On Tuesday, November 17, about a dozen rotary members and family spent the evening helping those in need at the Common Ground Free Store in Delaware. Our wonderful members and community donated a trailer full of clothing and household items, sorted items, provided food and money for food, and served up over 110 meals.
We posted this on our facebook page and had 1500 people reached as of this morning.
Thank you to everyone who helped, contributed food/money, and donated items.
Have a fantastic Thanksgiving! You do great things! Share
International Foundation Giving
Tuesday, November 10, 2020By: Bob Zerby
Welcome to November - Our Rotary International Foundation Month. I know many clubs emphasize donating to the Foundation during November and this year so many of you are taking precautions and zooming in to those meetings. So here is a way to make donations easier and a chance to enter a contest to win $100 at the same time. Rotary Direct allows members to make their donation using their account in MyRotary. If you have not registered for an account, it is very easy and instructions to do so are attached. If you need further assistance you can contact your club secretary, the district secretary, or me.
can enter a single or recurring donation on your credit card and can designate the TRF Annual Fund (where half of your donation comes back to our District for local projects) or the Polio Fund, if you haven’t had a chance to support the Polio Plus effort yet. Recurring can be annual or monthly. Just think, you would not have to write a check every year if you make the donation recurring! And it saves your club time filling out extra paperwork to send your donation on your behalf.
If you currently donate $100 for TRF, you might want to have a recurring donation of $10 per month, a small increase to help support all the programs. Contributions of at least $100 Annual fund and $25 for polio makes you eligible for the District 125 Club pin. Contest Rules:
Make your TRF donation via Rotary Direct by December 15, 2020 to be eligible.
Persons having used Rotary Direct since July 1, 2020 are eligible.
The donation can be for any amount.
At least one donation should be for the Annual Fund (this is the fund that helps support our District grants to help your communities).
Ten - $100 gift cards will be awarded in a drawing.
Note: You have to register and sign in to your MyRotary account to have the donation linked to your donation history and for your club to have credit. See the attached instructions. Special Club Contest
Will recognize the top three Clubs in each category
Largest increase in active members using Rotary Direct
Highest percentage of active members using Rotary Direct
Additional district grant funds will be made available to the winning Clubs.
Club leaders will receive more details in the near future.
Remember, Through Rotary Direct, you control your giving amounts and timing - you can make a one-time payment or schedule recurring payments to be made monthly, quarterly, or annually. Rotary Direct allows you to select and achieve your own giving goals - and without your Club officers or Foundation Chair having to come back to you time and time again. Please sign up today. Thank you for your support of the Rotary Foundation. Your efforts allow Rotary to Open Opportunities in your Community and around the World!
