Monday, July 4, 2022 By: Rich Irelan
Happy 4th of July Fellow Rotarians!   This marks the beginning of my new presidential journey and the first thing I would like to do is thank Past President, Mike Miller for his leadership and commitment during his term. I look forward to my new role and with the 2022-2023 Rotary International Theme, "IMAGINE" Rotary in mind, I am ready to Dream Big and Take Action!

Thank you all in advance for your support, the assistance when called upon and participation in this year's service and fund-raising projects.

Let's make it a great rotary year!Share

We could use more help!   Please reply if you can help or if you are on the current list, and now cannot make it.

Thank you to all who helped set up and tear down the Field of Flags this weekend. Weather couldn't keep us down and great volunteers made the work a breeze!! We did get a note from the City of Powell

Thank you so much for coordinating the Olentangy Rotary Field of Flags. I so very much appreciate your organizations service and commitment to our community. The Field of Flags is such a special and vital part of remembering our fallen military heroes. We are thankful and honored to host this annual event, and I look forward to working with you in the future. Thank you again, and have a wonderful day.

DACC Scholarships

Tuesday, May 10, 2022 By: Tom Kleven
I wanted to recap this year's scholarship program for the club.

This is our first year participating in the scholarship program benefitting students at the Delaware Area Career Center (DACC) that the Sunbury Galena and the Delaware Rotary Clubs have administered for several years. Our Olentangy Club contributed $2,000 and PDG Mike & Kim Brown also contributed $1,000 to the program. There was a total of just over $20,000 to be awarded from the three clubs, along with individual and corporate donations.

Over 40 students applied and were interviewed, via Zoom, by a panel of Rotarians from the three participating clubs. These students represented various areas such as welding, carpentry, dental assisting, and digital design. Twenty scholarships were awarded ranging in value from $750 to $1500. Awards addressed a variety of needs such as tuition, carpentry tools, and welding equipment.

I was very impressed by the quality of the student applicants. This was a record year for the program in terms of the number of applicants and the amount of money awarded. Programs at the Delaware Area Career Center are increasing in size and scope due to demand. I'm very pleased with the program and I hope we'll participate again next year and that we can increase participation by our members.

Also, Rich Irelan and Mike Miller attened the Presentation Ceremony at the Delaware Rotarry Meeting on Monday. What a great group of kids
